Is this new or am I missing something?

I've been looking around on Cardomain lately and noticed that there are hatchbacks that have the complete taillight section in red except for the reverse lights. Now, I do know that Jdm taillights had this, but is there someway to paint over the orange with red to make red turn signals? When I find a good link, I share.

Re: Is this new or am I missing something?

yea, you get trasparent red model paint and paint your tails. JDM tails did not come all red, they came with amber that goes all the way around, unlike USDM which goe red to amber then once it goes to the side of the ca rits red again.

Re: Is this new or am I missing something?

i've read that some people use that kandy red paint on the taillights...forget the exact name of the stuff, but i did find it on a search on here a few months back. Anyone seen a tallight conversion from 90-91 taillights to the 88-89? I dont think the centerpiece matches up with the key hole, but wouldnt the taillights be the same? I like the older style lights better than the newer one

Re: Is this new or am I missing something?

Now, when you paint them. Is it on the inside or outside? I guess you just open them up and paint, right?

It was the 90-91's for hatchbacks that had all red except for the reverse lights. The blinkers looked red but still blinked amber. whos amber you ask? i dont know. 88-89s though im sure you know have the orange blinkers.

Re: Is this new or am I missing something?

I've always heard that 90-91 just had a red filter over the corner lights that made them appear to be red. And they blinked amber. While the 88-89 are just plain out orange with no filter and blink orange, brighter than amber.

Re: Is this new or am I missing something?

the 90-91s are a lot darker orange so they blend in real well compared to the 88-89 where the orange stand out.

88, no amber on mine. Well unless you scrape the paint off.
