no problem. By the way, thats an always hot circuit. When you push the horn button you provide the ground at the switch.

Re: horn wire

i feel like an idiot for bringing this thread up again but...... how would i go about hooking up the horn to my remote start? for my remote start i have the option to start the car, turn on the headlights, honk the horn and use the panic button to have the headlights flash while the horn goes off. i'm done with the remote start for my car, it works perfect.......and i'm done hooking up my headlights...but i cant figure out how i can hook up my horn to a single wire coming from the receiver of my remote start. should i get a relay or something?

Is it just a pulsing signal from the alarm?

Well that says that if you put power to both terminals on the horn, it should beep. Since one wire always has power to it (wht/grn) if you hook up the alarm wire to the blu/red horn wire it may work. A resistor might be a good idea though. I dont know, ive never liked electronics, it always got the best of me. Mechanical stuff makes so much more sense to me. Good luck

Re: horn wire

Since we are on the topics of horns, anyone ever notice how funny our horns sound. People say it sounds like the road runner. But I'm wondering, will a 5th or 6th gen civic horn plug right up on our civics?

Actually your diagram shows that the circuit has 12+ all the time on both sides of the terminal. You need to ground the one wire (blue/red) in order for it to beep. There is no way in any circuit that if you had equal voltage to each side that it would do anything. Most of the time, circuits rest at either - or +.

To answer the question about hooking this up, just take the horn output from the alarm/keyless entry unit directly to the wire stated above.

Re: horn wire

i tried it and i pretty much get nothing......if i sit down in front of my front bumper i can hear a faint honk when i push the button on my transmittor....so faint that i doubt that alotta other ppl would here it if they were in my spot. so i dont know what to do...ahhh. maybe something's wrong with the receiver and the way its giving off the signal to honk or something.

Most of the lower end keyless entry units don't pulse long enough to trigger the horn. You should test this with a test light or meter.
