Re: What gas to use?
You're supposed to use 93 octane only with the vtec. If you want, sometimes you can pick up octane booster for really cheap. In that case, you could put 87 in and add the octane booster, and I suppose you'd be fine. Though I've heard this work, idk, i'm a little skeptical, so I just stick with the 93.

Octane booster does shit. It says it raises you 10 points, as in .1 x10. So it'll really only raise 87 to 88 octane. You can run your prelude on less then 91/93 octane but it'll run like shit and you run the risk of dentention. So which is more expensive, gas or a blown engine? Nuff said.

Re: What gas to use?
When I plan on driving it hard, I will use nothing but +93. On normal days when I'm cheap (being as poor as I am), I put 89 into it. I drive it like a baby during those times.

I would say defintely avoid vtec and aren't hills the most common place for detention? If so I'd say avoid those too.

Re: What gas to use?
Yeah I get about the same in my 94 vtec, it all depends on how I drive.

Re: What gas to use?
I think premium is up to $2.15/gal around here. Sucks, but I'm not running the risk of detonation.
