Lightbulb Muffler

Ever since I've been side swiped by some dick head driver my muffler I think has been raddling. The guy that hit me knocked my bumber off but I rigged it back on so you can hardly tell. It never rattles untill the engine gets warmed up too. I'm Trying to figure out what this is and how to fix it...Got any ideas..?

Re: Muffler

turn your car on let it heat up then get under your car and find out where the noise is coming from then go from there.

Re: Muffler

ya, sounds most likely a hanger snapped off from him hitting you take it to an exhaust shop they should do it for about 10 bucks or so....worst it could be is cat. fell apart and is in your exhaust

I know this is prolly a dumb question but its worth a shot, in any way shpae or form is it touching the bumper, i know when i put my rear bumper on it barely touched it from plain sight but once the car setteld it would rub against the bumper, so might wanna check that out!

rattling mufflers = a misalignment of the exhaust piping due to misaligned hangers or any structural damage to the piping or muffler itself..................yes it will make your muffler tap the bumper.
