Question 89 PA won't start sometimes

Last night got vehicle to run for the longest since I started working on it. I noticed a lot of smoke from burning oil. The longer it ran the more oil burned off. The vehicle stayed running and I finally turned it off. Tried to restart immediately, cranked but no start. Tried again an hour later cranked, no start. This morning cranked and fired right up. Turned it off. Cranked it again and it started right up. Sounds alot like a bad ground wire to the fuel injectors or a ecm that gets hot and won't or can't send the injector signal. I'll let you know what I find out.

Acually Could be a bad fuel pressure regulator or even a clogged catalyic converter. check your oil level. if you getting excessive fuel you will get a blueish cloud but its not a thick cloud and or black cloud. If it was a oil control issue it would be blue at all times. a head gasket could be an issue but in your case sounds like fuel. The ECM doesn't control the oil.

Clogged converotrs give you a lack of power. A bad fuel pressure reglator can give you a hard start or extended crank time. Neither will make you burn oil.

I have a dunb question to ask but I am going to ask it. Where is the oil burning off? Is it on the engine or do you see it at the tailpipe?
