Left Turn rubbing

when I turn a sharp corner to the left my tire sounds like it is rubbing on the fenderwall I have stock tires and rims do you think this could be a bad bearing or are all GP like this. My model is a 97 GT.

Could be a wheel bearing. Which wheel makes the noise? Have you checked to make sure you don't have a piece of the plastic fender well hanging loose?

Re: Left Turn rubbing

I agree with Carnut, check forst to make sure the inner fenderwell hasn't come loose. If not, my money would be on a hub bearing.

Check with the dealer there was a recall on the bearing that I had completed this week on my 97. When turning left mine had small hesitation now the steering it tight and back to normal, they should have the parts instock and take about 1/2 day to fix. They also retorque the whole steering. Below is the info from my service order:

Perform recall 02049 PWRV steering gear lower bearing seperation.

Hope this helps
