MINI Clubs 9 Day Tour of the Southern Isle
MAY 6 - MAY 15 2005
When 'Spirit of Tasmania' Ferry Cruises added Sydney to their ports of call in January '04 it presented a great opportunity to bring together MINI owners from all over Australia for a tour of the Southern Isle. In May this year, 13 MINI owners and partners from Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney joined the ferry in Sydney and Melbourne and headed to Devonport. From here the Run covered most of the Targa Tasmania Route as it wound its way around the island followed closely by our BMW X5 support vehicle.
Our accommodation in Launceston, Freycinet, Hobart, Strahan and Cradle Mountain was excellent and the food didn't disappoint. Weather conditions for the tour couldn't have been better with only a few days of rain. Our activities included Runs to the famous Chocolate Factory, a berry farm, Port Arthur and the Huon Valley, magnificent cruises up wild pristine rivers and coffee at little cafes on sensational mountain lakes.
At our final destination a walk along the Cradle Mountain boardwalks added something to get the heart rate up and provided us with a fantastic way to stretch out after covering nearly 2000 klms on some of the best MINI roads Australia has to offer.
It was such a great event we just have to do it again so off we go in May 2005, immediately following the completion of Targa Tasmania, to drive roads that MINI owners could never get tired of and pristine wilderness that we often only ever see in photographs or on film.

The Tour includes:- 4+ star accommodation x 9 nights (7 nights ex Launceston)
(Includes Twin Port Hole Cabins and car space 1st and last night on Spirit of Tasmania)
- Breakfast and Dinner each day (Dinner not included on day three in Launceston and day 6 in Hobart)

- National Parks Holiday Pass (required for entry in all national parks)
- Tour Livery for your MINI

- Toyota 4WD Support Vehicles x 2 incl. spare wheels and tyres, MINI inventory and Drivers
Support Vehicles
We are looking for a driver for one of the support vehicles. You will need to be over 25 with a good driving record. All accommodation and return ferry costs will be paid by the tour so all you will need is some spending money and to cover meals. Email us with your details if have some spare time to follow a bunch of MINI's around Tassy next May.
