Revell Viper GTS

Laid down the first wetcoat on what Will just called "Agent Orange." It's a lot of firsts for me: first time with an airbrush, first time with nailpolish, first time for non-box stock wheels...The color I chose for it is Pure Ice Hot Tamale, a wicked metallic tangerine. It took some work on the mist coats to get it laid smooth enough for a wetcoat, but thanks to some help from Brian at Briansmodelcars.com, it looks pretty good right now. We need to polish out this coat and lay another one down, but I think it'll turn out nicely. Now here's the disappointing part-no pics yet! I was just so excited that I got the color laid down that I had to post I really need to get a digital camera, 35mm is expensive!

On a side note, I got the last clearcoat laid on the LeMans ed. Z06 and it looks niiiiice. Pics of that one will be posted soon.

I was wanting to put BBS LMs on the Viper, does anyone know where I can get them quasi-locally? (As in, not from Japan)

I haven't called it anything!

Nail polish is one of the great untapped sources of awesome car colors. And airbrushes are one of the great pains in the ass. Putting them together is one of the great reasons to....

Post pictures!

Oh well. I guess we'll see it when we see it.

True you will see it when it's done, she's taking 35mm pics so they will be posted when the roll is up and we scan them in. It looks really good after the first wet coat and after the second and a polish then clear it should really pop...Oh and <----am the will she was talking about.

Re: Revell Viper GTS

Agree with Willimo. A vast choice of very cool colors in nail polish... I have 2 cars with the "Sally Hansen Prism series"... which are flip paints, and they look awesome. Worth a try guys... the rough part is to actualy buy them !!

That series is what made us decide to try nail polich, but at $5 each we decided to learn the joys of nail polish with a cheaper brand, which is why the Viper is orange. Next model might be....a 2004 Mystichrome Cobra :22yikes: (if I can work up the guts for the hood and bumper mods)

Re: Revell Viper GTS

yeah. i feel you on the hood work on that cobra. the recess is much deeper than on the revell 99 correct? and the oval openings in the front bumper. your skills are much more advaced than mine were when i first joined this site. i encourage you to try that cobra. as for the wheels. you have the direcations for the C5-R you can order them from revell. just put together 10 items you want and order them as replacements. costs you 3 bucks. i had to do that with a couple kits i wanted to finish. i had them so long i lost parts.
