Check oil light

The check oil light is on in my 96 GASE, it has been on for some time now. The owners manual says that this light is triggered because there isnt enough oil in the car. However on checking the oil, there was pleanty. I just changed my oil today, and the light is still on, and im positive i added enough oil. Heres another thing, when the car is cold, it isnt on, it doesnt come on until the car becomes hot, after it has been run a while. Im leaning towards a bad sensor...anyone have any other ideas? Thanks in advance. Justin

My guess would be either a bad sensor or the oil pressure sending unit those could cause the light to come on.

Re: Check oil light

could also be an overheating oil pump, which would not pressurize the system properly triggering the light
