Re: 93 z34 not charging

check the connections at the battery and have the battery tested. Also check the red positive post near the drivers side strut for corrosion of the wires. Make sure your grounds are good and clean and see what happens.

Re: 93 z34 not charging

Related story. My roomate way back when had a turbo Daytona that was acting similar. Battery dead sometimes, gauges going nuts. I kept telling her to let me look at it, but she dropped it off at a dealer while she was at work. $65 diagnostic charge, told her they couldn't duplicate the problem. She went out to get it, and it wouldn't start. The shop was closed, and she called me to get her. While jump starting it, I noticed that the negative cable end was overtightened and had cracked. Replaced it, and the car never had any more problems. Boy, did that dealer get an earfull!!

Re: 93 z34 not charging

I seem to remember that there were two options for alternators on that one, one style could be used if you used a jumper harness to make the plug correct for the other type. Is that what was happening, there was an adapter pigtail on it?
