Skunk II Intake Manifold

I am thinking about getting a skunk 2 intake manifold for my non vtec ls. Does anyone have one installed and what is your opinion. Does it give noticable horsepower and torque increase, and how hard is it to install?

dont waste ur time on that manifold or any manifold for that matter unless ur plan n on go n turbo. u will loose horsepower if u slap on that manifold. and it's even worse since ur put n it on an LS

most aftermarket intake manifolds only produce power high in the power band... high as in above 8000 rpm. I've seen them installed on gs-r and type r and the dyno only shows gains after something like 7800 so putting it on an LS with out any other engine mods is foolish. if anything build up the engine with that money first so that you can make a high revving engine then put the IM on.

Re: Skunk II Intake Manifold

What would give me the most horsepower for the money? Besides turbo and nos.

CAMS will give u power!

Oki, i also have an LS. Do this setup and u will be hitting mid 14's all day naturally aspirated. this is the setup im currently doing:

-CROWER 62404 stage 3 cams with Crower valvesprings and retainers
-PR3 Pistons (pistons from 99-00 civic SI) or ITR pistons (u will need to have ur LS rod's shaved a little bit to fit the type r pistons. the PR3 pistons that come in the b16 motor will fit right in the LS rod without any modifcations. it will also yieled a higher compression ratio which is a +)
-Adjustable cam gears to tune the cams
-Intake, Header, and full exhaust
-Adjustable Fuel presure regulator (need to tune motor once cams are installed)
-some type of fuel managment computer i.e. piggyback fuel controller like an APEXI SAFC or a stand alone unit like HONDATA, UBERDATA, etc...
-B16 Transmission (Best bang for the buck u can buy

when ur doing the cams, u might want to get the head ported and polished and do a valve angle job on it. that will give u an extra kick in ur pants.

i have all of these mods in my car with the exception of the cams ( i have the corwer stage 2 62403 cams. i still need to get a B16 tranny and pistons in my block.

im gauranteeing a mid 14 second car with these mods + TUNING!

Re: Skunk II Intake Manifold

This is a great setup for a ls, but the stage 3 cams are race cams. They might not be that good for a daily driven car. I'm not sure though.

stage 2 is supposed to give 12-15 whp, stage 3 gives 18-20 whp. i think those r the numbers. check out crower's website for the specs on the cams
