Those MSN specs aren't entirely correct. The IROC with the 5.0 had more than 170 hp because of its TPI (tuned port injection) feature, whiched upped horsepower to 205. The RS had the TBI v8, which was rated at a dire 170 hp. I also believe that a 5.7 liter v8 was available as an option on IROC, which outputed about 235 horsepower. However, I'm not entirely sure if that engine was offered in 1989.
