Remote Starter

Hey All,

My girl wants a remote start for her 2003 Eclipse Sypder GTS (winter is coming)....I have no knowledge on this stuff....

Does anyone have directions on how to install this.....and what parts/kit that I need to do this????

I would hate to spend like $400 if I could do it myself...

Thanks,
Jim

Re: Remote Starter

It all depends on if it is manual or automatic. If it is manual the remote start will cost a lot more.

Re: Remote Starter

I guess you just put the car in neutral with the emergency brake on. I have never seen one for a manual but I heard they make them

Re: Remote Starter

They have remote starters for a manual transmission. Here is the link that has it. You just have to have the car not in gear with the emergency brake up.

Re: Remote Starter

You can go to www.bulldogsecurity.com and look up the car's info to see if it is something you want to do. Personally, I do not recomend it. Most installs are pretty easy but it's have the right tools, parts, and common knowledge of these that makes it look easy or hard if you don't have any of that. Directed Electronics makes kits that you can buy over the counter and come with all kinds of help. It even gives you something like a 48 hour window to access their techline. But, I would rather spend an extra $100+ and be with my honey than waste a whole day cursing.

Re: Remote Starter

Im an installer and the easiest thing for u to do is get a car alarm with a remote start integrated with it. It will cost u 3-5 hundred installed... Kill two birds with one stone.
