how do i check the rod bearings
my 92 grand am is knocking i pulled the oil pan, how do i check the rod bearings, and rods without pulling them

you can check the bearings simply by pulling the caps off. not quite sure about checking the rods while their still in the engine. but before you rip everything apart, are you sure that the niose was coming from the bottom end?

yea im sure it was the lower end we just replaced the top end new head and i replaced 3 bent valves sound is a low knock and it sound to me like its coming from the lower end, its not the oil pump i checked that and when i put a hose to the lower end when it was knocking thats where i heard it the loudest
