tamiya wax after compound finish...
is tamiya's new compound, ultra fine or "finish," to be used as a final step in the polishing process, or is wax still needed for a better shine? or, would wax be a step backward?
thanks, theT |

Re: tamiya wax after compound finish...
I don't know about these new compounds but I have a hard time believing that wax is going to destroy the shine. Wax gives you a protection against dust and dirt and also gives you a head start when it comes to cleaning the model in the future.

Re: tamiya wax after compound finish...
This is something that is covered pretty thoroughly in the 'How To' section.

Re: tamiya wax after compound finish...
You should apply the wax as the final finishing touch to your model

Re: tamiya wax after compound finish...
Wax keeps the surface slippery, preventing dust particles to stick to the paint (or clear coat), so dusting off is easy. I can't think of any negative effect of using it.

thanks for the replies, it appeared as though tamiya made a three step polishing system which ended with finish, unlike the old system with just regular compound then wax.
