I am wondering if anyone has incorporated Bluetooth technology into their Xterra. I would like to install a proximity locking system. I know vehicles like the VW Touareg has it from the factory. I think if you just hooked up a device that was directly connected to the door solenoids; you would set off the alarm.
Any help or information on this would be appreciated. |

I know this post is old but i figured you still may need the info. The Xterra's factory security will arm/disarm when it sees a negative pulse to the lock/unlock wires. The wires are located in the bottom plug of the SECU(left of steering column) and are yellow for lock and yellow/red for unlock. Those colors are for 2000-2003 models. So,in short, you can add aftermarket keyless without it interfering with the fac.security.I install alarms and stuff all day so I hope this helps.
