I wouldn't exactly call the Celica a legend. It was an ok economy car that could get up and go if prodded. I kind of liked the styling of the older ones but the latest generations styling sucked. I think the TC looks better. But i wouldn't buy either one.

The Celica even in GT-S trim sucks. Sorry. I hate that Toyota doesn't care about anything else than selling appliances and shows no interest in an actual drivers car, by the way the MR2 is goin too.

i hadnt heard that the mr2 is leaving also.. the current gen mr2 spyder is gay though so im not too dissapointed but i would have thougt that a restyle would be coming up. DAMN YOU TOYOTA!

i still dissagree... i doubt that the tc was built to replace the celica though the celica may be gone...

by the way, the celica alltrac was a rally legend and did extremely well the years it was produced... i think you are only familiar with the celica st, gt, and current gts's...

dont be dissapointed yet... toyota has come up with variouse sport car concepts over the past 2 years... hopefully one will be produced by 2006

toyota is just the only company right now thats not shoving a turbo on their cars to sell them quicker, all the toyotas ive been in are very comfortable and pleasing to the eye, everything is in a place where its convinentand easy to reach, they have enogh power from the factory and if you still want more they make a trd supercharger for basicly all of their cars, so i dont see how they dont care about the intrests of drivers, look at hondas cars these days, those are nothing great, but yeah, the latest celica looks ugly and i dont know why anybody would buy one. the mr2 went to crap as well.

All Toyotas are nicely done inside, with quality, reliability, and 0 fun...sounds like an appliance to me... just like those bland slow Hondas like the S2000, 240hp accord, rsx, nsx, tl...hey, Acura is Honda somewhere

Scions are ugly and crappy...Cancelling the Celica and Mr2 are just all in all bad decisions. They never should have stopped production on the Supra either for that matter. Toyotas are the most dependable company and HAD great vehicles in every class ie. 4runner, tundra, tacoma, celica, mrs, sequoia, and camry. If they think they'll do better with Scion's, they are dead wrong.

Scions are made with a target market in mind...and thats young ppl who want cheap cars and want to be able to customize them all they want... when it comes to fulfilling that, they are great

Now I was not a fan of the celica, and I don't think the Mr2 ever came to Canada, but if you bring out a new brand you kill off its predecessors to give it the highest sales...remember the Integra? obviously

Just like the last time they stopped MR2 sales in the US, it always continued in Japan. Theres a hardtop Turbo MR2 out there... Its called the MR2 because its hardtop and thus, not an S

Both of the cars will live on, we just wont get any of them. I'd say the tC is a good replacement for our Celica... and the MR-S lives on in the much better Elise

That's a shame to have the Celica gone, but I've done considering that the 2001 and on Celica is not a Celica anyway...
