Re: saturn performance

www.twistecproducts.com -- They have all but discontinued their 1.9L Saturn fabrication, but they still have lots of leftover parts for really really cheap. Get 'em while they last.

Re: saturn performance

The Saturn is a lightweight, easy to work on platform for modification. For HP gains, I'd work first on the breathing: intake and exhaust. If you want to go all out, port and polish the headers. Get some high-flow spark plug wires, an ECU, and if you're really looking for HP, bolt on a turbo. They respond quite well to turbos. The suspension is probably where you want to focus, though. Get a good set of coilovers, a rear sway bar, and a front strut tower brace for sure, but also probably some bracing in the front and rear would be good. The car definitely needs new wheels and tires. Even the factory alloy wheels are too heavy. Some sixteen inch lightweight wheels with low-profile tires will help handling quite a bit. To get rid of wheel-hop and improve torque seep, put some solid motor mounts on it. The mounts will make your launch feel so much better. If you can afford a body kit, put a little bit of a skirt on it to help airflow, but unless you're going to be racing the car on a road course, a wing is just added weight.
