My blinker lights have gone out and i recently went to the dealership and bought a flasher to make the blinkers finallly work. The problem is, i dont know where the flasher is in the car?? Can anyone tell me how i can make my blinkers finally work? I need to know where the flasher is located on the car. I have a 2001 Firebird...can anyone help??
Thanks,

Re: Need HELP

Try the fuse block. It is usually located under the dash or along side the dash behind a plastic panel. The owners manual should give the exact location. The flasher should be plugged in to the block. You should be able to see the flasher once you locate the block. Simply pull it out and replace it with the new one.

Re: Need HELP

If you don't find the flasher on the fuse block, look for it somewhere behind the plastic part of the lower dash panel. Should be attached to a plug. I just read another post concerning grand ams and that was where it was located on them. The manufacturers have changed the vehicles so much over the last few years each car is different. Good Luck!

Re: Need HELP

I looked this morning in the panel by on the drivers side and found nothing. When i bought it from the dealership i asked them where it was located and if it was easy? They told me under the hood of the car, but i think they dont know what they are talking about because they were very busy. Prob just told me that for me to hurry and leave...i dunno...I will look under the dash...didnt think about that! THANKS for all the help.... I am gonna go look now...i will let ya know...

Might be near the steering column under the dash (where mine was), usually parts stores have information on where those parts are located. If you have an Autozone near you, or the like, I suggest you call them, all they have to do is look it up on their computer.

Re: Need HELP

I went to auto zone to actually get the "flasher" but they didnt have it....I didnt think about asking them where it was located though...thanks :-) I actually looked under the lower dash and did see many wires and junk but no spot for the flasher thing. Maybe its because im a "girl" and dont know very much about cars but im trying and want to learn...:-( I may just give into my pride and simply go to the dealership and prob pay 20 bucks to have them pop in a little thing. hahaha

Tech Automan, Where are you talking about under the steering column dash??? Is it to the left a little? Because i looked there....What year is yours? Mine is a 2001, would it be different??
