Lightbulb custom SVT one-off

I was wondering if anyone knew of a place to get parts to "convert" my 95 SE into a SVT. I'm looking primarily for the ground effects and wheels. Also any tips on performace aftermarket parts (SVT or not) would be appreciated. I've been having some trouble finding any parts beyond the OEM replacements.

Re: custom SVT one-off

why would you waste your money on an se making it look like an svt. i have a 98 svt and they are rare but easy to come by. it is a waste of time to (convert). all i did is bought an svt and put money into that, such as vortech supercharger, mirko front splitter and some other small things and it was probably cheaper to do all that than what you want to do.

Obviously, I know it does that. The reason I said that was why would you put a vortech on a contour/cougar when the Vortech has proven to show a 100% failure rate. Not one person on CEG has had a Vortech not take a crap. Even after the jackshaft upgrade that Vortech offered, they are still failing, not to mention the oil seals fail as well. Vortech doesnt even carry the kit anymore because of all the headaches. If the vortech actually made power gains across the whole powerband instead of 5,000-6950 rpms and was reliable it might actually be a good unit. If your looking for just peak hp numbers and no power under the curve, then the vortech can give you that. But until then, your going to have to buy a custom upgraded jackshaft from Knuconcepts for about $1500, some sort of fuel management, a custom tune, and an intercooler just to make it reliable.

well you must not know too many svt owners cause i know about 10 around my area, including me. and 4 others besides me have vortech superchargers on them and they run great a 100% satisfaction rate.

I lived in the Detroit Metro area for about 4 years which is the most svt contour populated area in the US. I know well over 50 contour owners personally not to mention, just the ones I know from the forums on CEG. Ive been apart of the Contour Enthusiasts Group now for about 5 years and have attended many contour/mystique events which generally happen monthly and then one national meet once a year. If you want opinions of the Vortech, ask the contour guys on www.contour.org, www.fordcontour.org, or the cougar guys on www.fastcougar.com. Theyll probably all end up telling you the same thing I have.

Re: custom SVT one-off

hey i dont mind the comments about the vortech supercharger. but i have not had anything go bad with it. But i also dont drive my car alot usually only in the summer on saturday nights down in detroit on telegraph and joy road, for all the street races. and on sundays to go to the bakers of milford car show. so it is not really run all to hard. so you may be right about it.
