'92 Grand Voyager wont shift out of low gear
I don't think it's the transmission itself. It starts out fine, in first, you feel it shift to second, then third, but instead of going to 4th, it slips back down into second, there's a slight jolt, and then it's stuck there. Won't shift up or down until you turn the van off and then back on. Also, the reverse just went out one day.... no problems before that, just went out. Any suggestions?

If you have not already got this fixed there is going to be one of two problems, 1- one of two speed sensors on the front of your trany is shot giving the comp and error, or 2- the comp. is picking up a pressure sense from one of the four gears ( probably the overdrive gear) that is out of spec. , when either of these two things happen the comp. send the transmission into "limp home mode" this lock the trans in second gear allowing you to limp the van to the nearest repair shop. My guess is that you have problem number two and it was caused by the snap ring breaking holding the o.d. clutch pack together. If your trans has not already cooked itself, you need to gear up to have it rebuilt.
