3.2L Legend motor in a 93 prelude

the plan is to buy this 93 prelude with an h22a motor in it. i'm selling the h22a for $1200 and buying a legend 3.2L motor for $500. gonna rebuild the 3.2L and boost/bottle it. has anyone put a 3.2L in a prelude before? can it work? what do i have to look out for.

thanks!

I don't think that it would fit, although I could be wrong... possibly, I have never seen or heard of anyone attempting this, so it leads me to believe that it's not possible.

yeah, preludes are already heavier than other hondas in the front...and there is some room, but it's kind of tight under the hood anyway, but i guess you can do anything with enough money...i'd be interested in seeing how you would go about it, it'd be a cool project.

Re: 3.2L Legend motor in a 93 prelude

No, you can't do that. The Accord V6 (which I believe the Legend also share) cannot fit into a fourth gen. The front of a V6 Accord is much longer than that of a Prelude. So while yes Accords can accommodate both the V6 and the inline four F22A (our engine), the Prelude can only accept the F22A and not the V6.

Sorry man.

If you're absolutely set on shoving a v6 in your lude. You might as well make it worth your while and go with the nsx motor. Both the legend and the nsx are c32's. (Although, extremely different revisions)

EDIT: btw, the motors are mounted logitudinally in legends; i'd imagine you'd have to mount it the same way if you were to put in a lude, and as aces said, the lude's bay isn't long enough.

I was thinking about how sweet that would be, at least for dragging...if it could be done, damn that would be sweet.

They are mounted logitudinally in NSX's too I believe:

Re: 3.2L Legend motor in a 93 prelude

yes you could do it for a pretty penny and take corners on you would need to streghthen your chasis drop in a fuel cell for greater fuel capacity and alot of custom suspension work and make the rear alil heavier it would work and be fun. if you come up with a solid plan i would put money on it that you could get sponsors and alot of help.
