Back with more questions

The guy that always answers my questions probably remembers I have a 2.5L non SVT. When I let the engine rev up on the auto matic, not in park or neutral while driving, if it hits past 4500rpm the lights start to dim. Is this normal? I was playing around the other night on the way home from work. I even turned the radio off and it still happened. The lights on the dash also dim as soon as a turn on the A/C or defroster or stero is turned on loud. Could this just mean my battery is crap? or my Alternator is screwed up? or is this just normal. Also if I add subs i the back of my car, what will it do when the amp is pull off the battery???

I am also still looking for dual exhaust on for my car. Would it be worth buying a replace exhaust from ford from the SVT model or should I buy an aftermarket one? Any info on the a dual exhaust conversion would also be helpful. aka what other parts will i need beside exhaust pipe and a muffler hanger welded on.

The third thing is this. What is everyones average MPG? I am only getting 17-18 which for a size of a six sucks monkey. One possibility I have thought of and am currently testing is the conical I had put on was in the stock box. I was using it to hold the conical in place so it wouldn't bounce in the compartment. Also I wanted to use the stock box as a splash guard because wet filters are not happy ones.

Thanks for any info

If i had to guess, I would say your alternator is on its way out. Adding subs will only worsen the problem, especially the louder you turn up the volume.

I would not recommend buying an svt exhaust from the dealership. $$$$ right there. Id check the contour.org classifieds. I picked mine up for $40 from a junkyard, and some people actually give them away in the southeast MI area. The only thing youll need is an exhaust hanger for the passenger side. Custom true duals will net the best gains but are the most expensive ($400-1200). Trubendz is the best bang for the buck catback exhaust.

I averaged about 30-31 mpg on the highway with my 2.5L. You may want to check your cat to see if its gone bad. That could be the reason for poor gas mileage.

95 Contour wheels

Anyone ever have trouble getting a wheel off. My son is on the road with a friend and they are having trouble getting the rear wheel off. Even though they are college students I asked if all the lug nuts were off. Any Ideas
