Fuel Pump Removal
Three questions
#1 I am alittle hesitant to remove my fuel pump as I am unsure how to remove it properly I tapped it with a hammer and screw driver to get it loose but that didn't work out to well, and I didn't want to continue. What is the best way to remove it? I am sure there is a special tool to do it but I'm not sure what tool that could be and how I would go about getting one. #2 Once the fuel pump is out and I put in the new one, there is a gasket for it but do I need to do anything else besides just the gasket and tighten? #3 IS there a specific torque to tighten the fuel pump? |

Re: Fuel Pump Removal
use a BRASS punch! Don't use anything that can cause a spark (for obvious reasons) beyond that, I'm unsure about 1st and 2nd gens, sorry man...

Re: Fuel Pump Removal
You can get it from the parts department at a Ford dealer for about $10. Unfortunately, none of the automotive retailers (Autozone, Pepboys, etc.) carry it.
I just bought one the other day, so I know. |
