My CRX needs a suspension overhaul
I've decided to quit making my CRX faster and time to make it handle better and more comfortable with daily driving. I realize now after almost losing control of the car again that power is nothing without control. I need help with deciding on what is the best coilover, strut and swaybar combos I can use for a 90 CRX SI for daily driving without crossing the $1000 budget. I don't want the bouncy and stiff feel to the ride. I want to take turns with smooth control and have acceptable drag launches when on the track. I know for sure I need to replace the bushings that are worn out. I also need some help on what sway bars work best for the front and rear. It seems like ground control has performed well for coilover set-ups but I'm not really sure what are the best struts to use. I am looking for other options so drivers that are all about handling need to help me out.

Re: My CRX needs a suspension overhaul
If you want true coilovers and sway bars for under $1000 your out of luck. You might be able to get Ground Controls, Koni Yellow struts, & Suspension Techniques sway bars for under $1000. From my experience with a 91 si, a front & rear sway upgrade will re-create understeer. I've found that the Suspension Tech. rear sway & STOCK front sway bar work best for my driving style. I did upgrade the front sway bushings to poly & installed shorter endlinks.

Re: Re: My CRX needs a suspension overhaul
I figured $1000 might be a little hopeful. I've been looking at the Tein SS full coilover/strut setups and Omni Power kits as well and the cost is in the $800's which is still acceptable. I just need some feed back from drivers that have had success with their own coilover setups. At this point I just want a set-up that has comfort yet performs well with high performance driving. As for sway bars and stut towers, I can focus on those later, I just need to decide on a good combo for coilovers and struts.

Re: My CRX needs a suspension overhaul
i recently got omni power coilovers from jhpusa.com and they ride wonderfully. since these cost only $650, they have a full shock stroke, and different spring rates (i went with street) i would recommend these over the tein basic damper. i don't have an experience with the tein ss, so i don't know how they compare to them. but if you get the omni power coilovers and suspension techniques sway bar, as jackasssi said you only need the rear, you will be under $1000. doing this made a huge difference in my handling and i highly recommend the omni power. oh, and if you didn't know you would have to use the forks off a 92-95 if you went with omni power.

Re: My CRX needs a suspension overhaul
Tokico has a coilover set up for around 900.00 dollars. As long as your suspension set up is like that of the Civic of the same year. Saw this on www.coximport.com
