Re: oil leak...

it probably burns up on your exhaust before it shows up.

Re: oil leak...

Your oil gauge won't move unless you have a major, major leak. Like, quarts pouring out of your car. The best way to tell how much oil you're losing is to change/fill up the oil to the full mark on your dipstick, drive it around for a few days, then check again to see how much lower the level is. Make sure to check the car after it has been sitting for a while, not after you've just driven it.

Hi, I'm new to the forums here but I saw ur post and wanted to find out more. You see, i'm suffering from the same problem. I have a 98 Eclipse GS and after my car gets up to regular operating temp. oil starts leaking. It's a minor leak from what I can tell because I'm not loosing vast ammounts of oil. However it is a real pain. The most I can tell is its comming from the rear of the engine on the drivers side. NOT the valve/rocker cover gasket. I've already checked and replaced that. Thats all the info I can provide. Can anyone shed some light on the subject??
