03 Fuel gauge question

I recently purchased a 03 Taurus for my wife. We've noticed that whenever we fill up the car, the Needle on the gauge never quite goes to the "F" mark.

Being a GM guy all my life I'm used to it going past the "F".

Is this normal for the Taurus, Or something I should take it in for.

Thanks,
Jeff

Re: 03 Fuel gauge question

It might be a problem with the sender unit that is attached with the fuel pump. I have a 2000 ford taurus and was driving to school when the thing started losing power. Pulled off road and it stalled. Waited a while ran fine the staled out like was out of fuel. Had father pick me up and drove the car a little further and it acted retarted again. Currently it is sitting in the garage at home fuel guage shows about 3/8 tank of gas but the damned thing is empty. I was reading on here that ford has alot of problems with thier fuel delivery systems.

My '99SE fuel guage is really inaccurate. It has a 16 gallon tank and when it reads empty with the low fuel light flashing I only can pump maybe 12 gallons into it. It was a little better before the dealer replaced the fuel pump but I'm not having those gorillas working on my car again .
