Unhappy Stalling And Need To Leave On Trip!!!

I am very new on this forum and would appreciate any help. My band has a 1998 econoline 350 with the 5.4L V8. I know this is the F-Series forum...but i figured the problem is not specific to vans. The van will start fine, but unless gas is continually given, it stalls out. This problem was intermitant over the last week, and after a few failed attempts it would run fine. but now the van will not stay running at all. I replaced the fuel filter, but it didnt help. If anyone has encountered this problem or has any ideas...or any questions to help narrow the problem down, I would be extremely thankful. We are supposed to leave on tour this weekend...but we need a van!!
