"On the way home from work today"

On the way home from work today, I kicked my GTX to get around one of these "little old ladys". In first, went up to five grand, and went "flat". Like no power flat. Pulled off the road and let everyone go by. The did it again. Samething happened.
Anyone have or had this happen? Don't need this on a car I just put $2,000.00 into a new paint job.
Thanks, Jim

Re: "On the way home from work today"

RPM's stayed at 5000. Power flated out. Like I was driveing my 66 GTO and it went to "Pinto". Now I got off it as soon as it happened. Never keep on it. Just took my foot off the gas. Didn't want to cause any to happen.

No, but I did fill the car up just before that. Prem $25.00. Wonder if I got a load of bad gas.

Re: "On the way home from work today"

Could be but im not sure why it would be okay until you hit 5000 RPMs.....

When I had a similer problem....it turned out to be a vacum leak....so I guess you could start there

Re: "On the way home from work today"

That would piss me off. Because I don't want it on my car in the first place. I'm going to get the car in to be checked. As soon as I can get a min to get it in. Thanks
