Question 2000 Headlight adjustment-how do I get it right?

I tried adjusting my headlights but had no success. I found the center line on a wall 30 feet from my car and my driver side headlight is aiming almost on the center mark and the passenger side headlight is far right of the center mark. I tried aiming them both more center but the headlight is moving so far one way that it's getting to tight to move. Anyone know how to adjust the lights the right way? Give me some advice please. Thanks.

I have a 99 G AM SE. I believe your setup is the same as mine. There are two clips that hold the entire light assembly in place.. Thats 2 per side. You will need to locate these clips if you ever need to change the light bulb (a different mess all together!) Make sure that those clips are in the tracks. Also attached to those clip holders are 2 adjustment screws. By turning both adjustment screws counter clockwise the entire light assembly will move forward. Don't screw it out too far. This will give you enough clearance to adjust the center, then adjust the elevation. I had to play with it for 2 attempts before it was correct. You might want to get used to this because for some weird reason every time I change a bulb... I need to re adjust !.. Hope this helps. Good luck!
