Unhappy ohh my.......

well it was race night i was talking about for a long time yesterday....i beat my cousin`s 318i but i couldn`t beat my friend`s i30t, tihs is what happened....5 cars all my friends,318i, my car, GTI, subaru outback2.5, i30t(227hp).......we were driving around80km/h on highway 99(Canada), and the GTI started flashing his lights...i floored it and pass 318i, GTI, and subaru, and now it`s between me(190hp), and (227hp) that i30 was fast......i was slower than him about 3~4 car lengths at 150km/h, almost catching up and all of a sudden my engine just stopped..!!,stopped!...it was like 1000RPM...
...i couldn`t get my engine to rev...and after a few secs the car was fine again...6000RPM...and then again it stoped to1500RPM...
...is that my limiter?....was i driving it too hard?....plz answer my question....i don`t know what`s happening....!!

Yeah, that's the limiter. It prevents people like you from blowing up the engine.

mann...thst`s what i was wondering....could it be the limiter?...i`ve driven it at around 190km/h, i was only at around 140~150 when it did that....and what`s even weird is that the RPM was around idel, that means 600RPM, that`s not possible when i`m in clutch on 3rd gear and driving around 140km/h, i didn`t put it to N, so the computer must of released the gearing itself....well, could it be that i was low on fuel and the fuel light is on?...cuz i fueled up and tried it again and it didn`t happen....!!..really worried.. by the way i have a year 99 auto maxima SE

Iv'e never actually looked to see the exact placement of the fuel pump and pickup in the Max, but I have heard of people having problems with the fuel light on when trying to race or go uphill. You have to realize, your pushing whats left of your fuel to the back of the fuel tank. That could be causing you to sputter out, but I don't think there is a connection between the fuel light and your ECU. Run with a few gallons. It's not going to slow you down any that you'll notice and it will definetly protect your engine.

Talking

aight.....i`ll do that......cuz people always say that weight slows you down, so i went and raced with just like 5L left n my tank, but didn`t have a second thought that i`ll run out of fuel while racing....and that`s what almost happened...and i didn`t win cuz engine couldn`t suck in more fuel....so next time i`ll race with 25L of fuel....that way it`ll be way safer..!!
