Exclamation Transmission swap

Hey Guys ,
I am starting to do a JDM engine swap on a 93 eclipse from a 1.8 to a 2.0. I need to know if the manual Transmissions are the same ? Or if I need to buy a new one . First time doing a swap on a mitsubishi done them before on Nissans.. Thanks.......

Re: Transmission swap

yes the manual trans is the same on all 1st gen fwd's. you will need to change the engine wiring harness and ecu. probably motor mounts too

just wondering why you want to do a jdm swap?

Re: Transmission swap

the ecu and wiring are definately not compatible. im assuming that you want the turbo 2.0. check dsmtrader. you're basicly going to need a parts car to rip apart since the wiring comes in through the firewall to the ecu thats behind the radio. from a junkyard a ecu is between 50-100 bucks so i dont know how much for the whole thing. if you want a 2.0 nt i can sell you the whole car.
