Engine Swap: 2.8L to 4.3L

ok heres my problem i have an 86 chevy s10 w/ a 2.8 and it has absolutely no balls. I used to think it was fast untill i drove my dads 89 s15 with a 4.3 It was so much faster and now i am convinced that i need to get a 4.3 in my truck so i have done a ton of research and know they made 4.3's in 86 for monte carlos astro vans and prolly some more but which one would be the best to switch to i want it built for speed im going to go all out on this but i dont want a v8. so which one would be best for what i want done and would i need to rewire the whole thing or just parts or at all. and would the tranny bolt up to the 4.3
