Angry ticking sound from E300 D 1995 at cold start

My mercedes E300 D 1995 gives an annoying ticking noise at startup everyday, is this normal, this gets ok after about 20 mins. Otherwise the car runs beautifully.

Could be a bad injector. The normal procedure is to try to locate the bad injector if you can, remove the injector and see if the ticking stops. If it does, replace the injector. This is the described procedure for my 87 300D. Consider getting the shop manual for your vintage.

My parents have a Benz 190 D 2.5 and has the same problem as yours. The garagist says it completely normal and the engine is indestructible.
