Re: Good way to get more torque

1 Turbocharging
2 Supercharging
3 Nitrous Oxide

All of those give you significant lbs/ft of torque.

An intake and bolt ons wont produce much

Re: Good way to get more torque

Depends on how much you want to spend and if you want to go NA.

And bolt ons yeild vary good hp gains contrary to what MexSiR says, torque gains too just not as much as the HP.

And a supercharger would be much better than a turbo if you want low-end power. The SC will give good low end gains, the turbo will give traction problems and it's much better for upgradeability and top-end power.

Re: Good way to get more torque

You're just going to have to use regular bolt ons that'll increase both the hp and tq, they're great for hp, not sure about torque.

I'd look at:
Injen CAI
Jackson Racing race header if you're going to get supercharged later
Hondata reflash or Hondata K-Pro
Motor mounts (make the car have more vibrations, however)

If you really are looking for a torquier car than a muscle car or a WRX might be better.

Re: Good way to get more torque

Yup...You want blazing torque (low-end, at least)- don't buy a Honda.

Re: Good way to get more torque

A header, an intake, or an exhaust WONT gain you SIGNIFICANT torque gains. Period.

A Turbo will give you more torque in the low end section 2000-3500. Centrifugal superchargers make max torque close to redline or at it.

Re: Good way to get more torque

Ahhh another B and D series engine entusiast.

See my sig.

Boltons have proved to give good gains and RSX turbos give high end power, the RSX s/c's give low end.

Re: Good way to get more torque

Thank you

And a summary is if you want low end power the Jackson Racing (or the soon to be released Comptech) supercharger would be best.

out of turbo,sc, and nitrous. the nitrous will give you the biggest tq gain in low rpm's but falls off quickly. sc is great for low to mid range and turbo is your best bet through mid to high

Re: Good way to get more torque

Clutch will just help optimize the power you already have, and a clutch isn't really needed unless your stock one is slipping or if you've done a lot of mods.
