need some advice
i have a 93 ranger im droppin a 2.3 liter with 100 miles on it i am lowering it and gettin a roll pan and stuff but i want it to be able to hang with some nice cars motor wise should i buy some nitrous for it or a turbo?

The best thing to do, is to get a 2.3 turbo outta a turbo coupe.
But, you could go rip up some ricers if u got some NAASSSSSSS

a 2.3 turbo is outta the question i just dropped in a new 2.3 and turbo coupes are rare around here and a turbo is expensiveeeeeeeee

You probably didn't build the engine strong enough for the turbo if it's stock. The 2.3L turbo has forged internals. If you run turbo on stock pistons, you'll blow them out. The only cost effective and feasible way to get turbo on that 2.3 is to get a backwheel drive 2.3 that already has turbo. You may as well spend the money on a bigger cam and holley side draft carbs if you can't get the right engine. I suppose you could just get a bigger cam and bigger injectors, but you'll need an IST air adjuster to tune it in correctly. With that you would also need to port and polish the intake and the heads, as well as get a bigger throttle body. Not cheap, I was browsing in a catalog and seen a 60mm for $400. I would also reccomend doing something with the heads, bigger values, better valve springs.

*** That's considering you have Mass Air Flow for the air adjuster... I don't know much about the 2.3, I am more of a 2.9L guy. I had speed density and had to convert to MAF. Just got the truck running with a big cam, sounds nice.
