Band name... Trouble...

Ok... So Im in this new band... Deathmetal band.

So we're thinking of names because were fixing to record. And for some reason the lead guitarist is stuck on the name "The Mistress"

... Ummm...

So guys help me think of something here...

My ideas so far:

- The Last
- Cries of the Past

Any ideas?

-Wes

Cries of the Past is cool. I've heard of a band called The Last, so you can forget about that one.Why is your bandmate hung up on The Mistress? If you're an all-guy band that name doesn't really fit.

I can see why you don't like! roflol!

You need something orginal, and simple.

A mates band calles themselves "Six Day War" http://www.sixdaywar.net/
An event that featured lots of death.

I would try and avoid the satanic angle, its bit common, and if you want to get noticed you want something that stands out.

You could always try "Deaths Mistress"
Or "Deaths Masters"

"Knights of doom"

How about "Death Knights"
A common evil creature in many computer games and we all know a lot of metalers are also big time computer game players.

I agree, cries of the past is cool. At least far better than mistress.

Re: Band name... Trouble...

Moppie, 'Deaths Mistress' is sweet, I'll run that by them.

Well see, this band used to be called 'Red Dress Matramony'...

But Im not entirely sure why the head guy is so hung up on 'The Mistress'... Sounds silly to me.

O and Moppie, Im deffinately not trying to play the Satanic card here... We're an S.X.E band singing (or screaming I guess) about political issues, or personal beliefs.

Anyways... Any other suggestions?

I have no idea. But I thought I post some silly names that may or may not have been used for a band yet.

Dead Meat
Road Kill
Screaming Mimis
Flogging Masters
Rancid
Cleptic Visions
Gaston Xod

Dude, seriously. Cries of the Past and The Last are both names of songs by the band Underoath. Granted both songs rock my socks off, but being original is better in the long run.

*****EDIT*****

Yogs, Rancid is already a band. Punk band thats been around forever and still rockin'.

Yes this I know... Because we're primarily going to sound like Underoath with more growling. Cries of the Past seems fitting.

I was thinking maybe 'End Of Time'

Sound good, or gay?

I dunno, but all these names sound pretty conventional to me.

(Not that i have any better ideas...)

End of Time sounds more like a song title then the name of a band.
