I have a 93 F-250 with 95,000 miles. About 2,000 miles back I lost my low beams & replaced the light switch with an aftermaket replacement. This first replacement lasted for less than 1,000 miles, so I replaced it with another aftermarket replacement, same deal, short lived.
I then replaced the switch again using a motorcraft switch, and at the same time replaced the wiring harness socket with a pigtail replacement sold by Ford. This combo didn't last any longer than the first 2 replacements. Can anyone out there help? Thanks in advance Larry |

Re: 1993 F-250 light switch problem
check your wiring to the front and change both of the front headlamp sockets, I used to have the same problem on my 91 F-150, a guy at autozone gave me that advice and it worked, I thought it was crazy at the time to, cause my wires were fine, but I replaced those headlamp sockets and it were, I was goin through about a switch a week, I only bought three cause that shit pissed me off.

Thanks for the info, I'll give it try. My wiring looks OK but the truck has spent most of it's life in a salty air enviroment |
