Turn Signal Thermal Flasher
I have a 95' Cutlass Supreme SL. I was wondering where the turn signal thermal flasher is located? I was told it was underneath the steering column, but that has not been specific enough for me to locate it. Is there a seperate thermal flasher for the hazard lights also? Any help would be appreciated.

The turn signal flasher is a small canister-shaped or rectangle unit located under the dash, in the clip adjacent to the steering column. The hazard flasher is located in the in the convenience center [under the glove compartment].
When functioning properly an audible click can be heard. If the turn signal fails on one side or the other and the flasher does not sound a faulty bulb is indicated. Having said that, mine will make rapid clicking sounds when the rear bulb is burnt out. If the right signal does not work, [the dash light stays on] but the left works properly, then the column switch is suspect. If both turn signals fail to blink the problem may be a fuse, flasher unit, or broken switch. When replacing the flasher, compare the new unit to the old one; there are many different units out there. |

Re: Turn Signal Thermal Flasher
I have a 1991 Cutlass Ciera SL and my turn signals suddenly quit working all together. My 4-ways worked fine and I was able to locate that unit by listening to the "clicks" and found it behind the glove box to the right. My turn signal flasher unit however was another problem locating since I could not hear it. After calling several dealers (non of whom could tell me where it was located), and removing all covers on the dash, I did find it located right above the ash tray on a clip under the radio and slightly to the left agaianst the back of the dash board. Hope this helps.
