Issues with my PT Cruiser

I have a 2001 PT Cruiser and am getting kinda frustrated with it. First problem is it keeps overheating. My brother and I replaced the themostat and that didnt fix it. It continued overheating, so we took the thermostat out completely. That helped but it still overheats if I run the air conditioning for too long. So that's bothering me. And now one of my rims is leaking chronically. The guy at the tire place tells me this is a common problem with Chrysler chrome rims and that I should just replace them. I'm just wondering if its just my car or if any of you have experienced the same problems?
