87 CRX suggestions
Hi, I'm new to Hondas and recently bought an 87 CRX with an SiR motor in it. Can anyone tell me what that motor is capable of and if I should go ahead and do a motor swap instead. Oh, the reason I'm asking is because it needs a new flywheel and clutch installed so I was wondering if I was wasting time with the current motor.

Re: 87 CRX suggestions
Hmm.. SiR... Not real familiar with that motor. There are many choices for the motor swap, all depending upon your budget. So, it really depends on how much you want to spend right now. I later plan on dropping in a b18 shortblock with a b16 head. But that is in the not so near future.

Re: 87 CRX suggestions
SiR? can you get the engine code off it? it's stamped on the front beside where the tranny mounts to the block. an SiR motor is from the newer hondas and it does not mount into the car w/o modification

I'll check on it sometime today. It's at a friend's that I work with so I cant check it immediately. The best I can remember, it says sir on the taillights and is stamped where vtech and stuff like that normally are.
