Where is the best place to buy Alclad II?

I have been looking around and really haven't found anything. What website sells Alclad II the cheapest. IHS has them for $7.85 an 1oz, is that a fair price? How much would that last for?

Hopefully there isn't any existing thread about this so i wont get flamed.

If you'd done a search you'd know if there was an existing thread about this, in fact, there are several.

As to where to buy AlcladII, I'd personally recommend http://www.scaleracecars.com

That's where I get mine, too. That stuff is just plain expensive (compared to other paints) but is very worth it. That's just the way the cookie crumbles, unfortunately.

it's not THAT expensive.

a 1/2oz Model Master paint jar is 4$ here (cnd) Alclad is 12$(cnd)
so 8$ vs 12$ for "special" paint.

as for how long it last... you can easily anwser this question yourselft. How long a 1/2oz or 1/4oz paint jar last you with your airbrush ?

Im not sure if aclad II is anything like testor's metalizers, but if it is you will use very little paint. so it would last a long time.

Stephen, it's very much like Testor's metalizers with the exception of the fact it doesn't require a sealer like metalizers do.
Otherwise, you're quite right, you do use very little at a time.

Kinda off topic but on the metalizer subject. Why do you need to seal the non buffing metalizer?

Model Master metalizers are very great paint ! but not for chrome.

Use Alclad II for chrome, and Model Master Metallizer for every other metalic color

Re: Where is the best place to buy Alclad II?

i get my alclad at my LHS for about $12 cdn, thats a pretty good price id say because ive seen it for $16 before.

it is fairly thin so a bottle lasts pretty long.
