why cant we get a cavalier model?

I understand that, maybe the 2nd gen cavy(1988-1994) isnt as popular as the third gen ence why it'll probably never see production in plastic form!

but what about the third gen(95-05) cavalier and sunfire, they are more popular than all those friggin afrosity of honda civic (ok the honda civic look is my opinion)
I think it would be fairly interesting to get an american (GM) sport compact in kit form, since we have the focus, civic, golf, integra and so on!

I want your opinions on this (maybe i could send a mail to amt or revell to have a cavalier made, what do we know maybe it'll work)!

Re: why cant we get a cavalier model?

i think that one reason the civic models are in production, is that a lot of them begain with japanese manufacturers, and they are a HUGE part of the japanese tuning culture, and im sure that once revell reallized the potential, they released their civic kits......the fast and the furious helped that along, im sure.

You're right. Thank God someone made a model of that beautiful, performance ready car.

This is in the wrong section, by the way.

Re: why cant we get a cavalier model?

well you can put it in the right section

and btw im not talking about a chubby, not proportion wise good model,im talking about a "real" reproduction, like the other ones

dunno if you were joking about the performance part, but the 2.2 ecotec can easily reach 900 hp with GM parts

well, from what I understand, GM is a pain in the butt about getting licences to do there newer cars. plus, why would they do a kit of a car that is'nt going to be in production next year?, its been known for a couple years that the Cavalier would be killed off after 2004.

now, I would expect a kit of the CoBalt. seems like Chevy is marketing that car heavily to the younger crowd. and some nice kit of it would be great. helluva alot nicer car too

a 900 horsepower Chevy Cavalier, I could see maybe 350 out of an Ecotech, but not 900, and from using GM performance parts. they'll be broken in 3 months anyway. as well as the rest of the car. The Cavalier has'nt been know for its great reliability,

Theres a simple reason there is no Cavalier model. It's not popular. Models are molded after cars that are known. Cavalier just doesn't cut it.

If you don't know them, how do you know that they are there?
Seriously though, I think part of the reason is just because of the fact that most of the model buying public would associate the Cavy with the words 'slow,' and 'econobox.' I'm not going to deny what you said about a 900hp Cavy (I would like to see it if you have a link; that would definitely be interesting) but most people don't really identify a Cavalier as a car to tune. You could argue the same about the Focus, but alas, Ford releases the SVT, and the RS in Europe; the Focus has a WRC race team, and is also universally recognizable. Plain and simple, the Cavy probably doesn't have enough tuning potential, or at least any that I can see, to really become a popular model for Revell.

Simply put is that the Cavaliers are not popular enough to make a model of. I'm sorry but count the number of Civics on the road to the number of Cavaliers and you'll be heavily outweighed.

Re: why cant we get a cavalier model?

the civic number on the road dereased by like 60% over the past 2 years

and what we see now are hooked up cavy and sunfire (well maybe it's just a canadian thing)

60%? I find that hard to believe; can you back that up with anything?

Re: why cant we get a cavalier model?

well, hooked up civic, they were everywhere and now,we dont see shit, they have some engine mods but no body kit or anything (nice body kit not some ugly hunk of fiberglass),there are some more rx7 and nsx than before same as sunfire and cavalier, same goes for the 80's supra and those 2 door honda accord but the civic declined from his king of the road title over here (talking about modified cars)
