325i coupe window problems

i've got a problem with my driver's window . Basically when i go to shut my door the window sometimes rises above the door recess , so i have to keep opening and closing the door to make the window go down on it's own accord so it fits properly .

Other times when i shut the door the window doesn't rises up into the recess . I'm at a loss . The window works ok except for when i go to shut the door . the regulator seems fine .

Please can anyone help me .
