Man do I need help

The pulsating brake pedal got worse on my 89, took it to work for a 1.5 mile trip and at a quick stop at the post office the outer drivers side tie rod end fell off the car. I know nothing about front suspension, but I figured from here its a half mile and a straight stretch, so tied the tie rod to the control arm and slowly got her home. Upon inspection there wasnt even a grease fitting on it. Had the hole for it. With help from a friend I learned how to replace all the tie rod ends (in a nice cool drizzle outside) We checked the toe in/out with tape measure to get it drivable. Still needs aligned. Upon test drive the brake pedal is still jerking up and down when applied. Suspension seems good and tight and I dont want to just keep putting parts on it. It seems to steer and drive OK. Any ideas where to look next? Wheel bearings? I did discover a nice oil leak while crawling around on the gravel. Any quick tips for a novice backyard mechanic. Really cant afford a shop right now but my only transportation.

Well if your brake pedal is pulsating then your rotors may be warped. Time to replace them, $24.99 each at Autozone for the no name brand, I have to get some as I have to do my front brakes as well.

For the oil leak just check it frequently and keep it full until you can get it repaired or decide to get another car......

Yep, the rotors. Put new rotors, pads and bearings on her and she drives like new. Now to work on that oil leak.
