Strobe Lights In The Front

Anybody have any strobe lights on their cars? I really don't know much about them and wanted to know more. Any kind of info would be good. Are they basically like how cop cars blink one at a time or do they blink together. And do they come in any different colors? My boy used to have these lights in the front that he used to turn on without turning the lights on and it would be a tight-ass red kind of tint to them, not bright at all. He said it was his parking lights he changed, but I don't know. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I've installed strobe lights on a car before. They don't really blink together, I mean if you install two of them then they will both blink but they probably won't be synchronized. To answer your other question, yes you can get them in different colors. And if your boy had red in his headlights he might have just changed the normal park light bulb to a red one. Or they do make these neon lights that can go in your headlight housing. You can buy all this stuff at www.streetglow.com

cool thanx...OK this is a stupid question, but are parking lights the same as the turn signal lights? I ask because when you turn your parking lights on, it;s orange just like the turn signals. Are they two separate bulbs? Where can I get some cheap strobe lights at? and do you think they are worth it? Thanx

As far as whether or not your park lights are seperate from your turn signals goes, well I'm not sure, it depends on what kind of car you have. On my Prelude they are seperate but on other cars it may be different. If I remember correctly my old Civic only had one bulb that was both the park light and the signal light. The strobe lights on www.streetglow.com are pretty cheap, they aren't expensive at all. Is it worth it? Well that's up to you, I wouldn't put them on my car but if you like them then get them.

it's illegal to use strobes on the road anyways...as long as you dont get caught using them, cops wont have a reason to search for them..

Re: Strobe Lights In The Front

okay .... your signal and park lights are totally different. Its easy to install strobe lights man. And in order to get them to come on without your lights being on then you just wire them up to a direct 12v source ( battery ) and run your wires parallel thru a toggle switch...easy as that. If you want them on whith your running lights then you just tap into your running light relay or just tap into the wiring. Its something so simple that a lil bit of common knowhow and a lil research could have prevented this whole thread....you live in VA ?

Re: Strobe Lights In The Front

if you want ur strobes to be as bright as those on police vehicles ur going to have to install a two or three bulb assembly on each headlight. i tried with the one bulb package and they weren't as brigh as the three bulb. and depending on where you get them they can be a lil pricey. it'll run you about 500-700, i suggest you put it on if your car is in a car club for show if not t=don't waste your dough and save up for engine mods.
