dsmlink malfunction?

ok i have a 95 tsi wich the previouse owner installed dsmlink into it..........and i was taking off the bolt on the power supply on the battery and accidently touched the ratchet from the power to strut bar and i think it did somthing because i had the stock boost guage as a knock sensor and now its back to a boost guage does that mean i reset the dsm link or somthing.... and what do i need to fix it i have none of the dsmlink disc or cables

ok and i downloaded the dsmlink application now do i just need the cables and a lap top?

software and cable IS dsmlink. If you didn't start with either of them, you don't have it.

no the kid i bought the car from had it and he didnt give me the softwear or cable but the car was allready set up and somehow i think i reset it

I understand, but if you don't have the product anymore, it's like you don't have it. Like Kevin said, call Tom and hope he can do something for you. It's possible that they record every car that DSMlink runs on, or who they have sold it to.. etc.

Yes, that stuff shouldve been included. The adapter is how DSMlink keeps people from pirating the setup. You can copy the chips all day but they wont do shit for you if you dont have the adapter It sounds like you definitely did reset the chip. Talk to the kid you bought the car from and tell him he owes you some parts.
