Don't like the 360, partly because of the F430, but also because Ferrari made a dogs dinner of the styling in my oppinion.

Wouldn't take the F430 because of the "i've got a small penis" image, and the quality isn't as good as the Lambo or Porsche.

I wouldn't have a Gallardo because it lacks the gullwing doors, and looks a bit to in your face for me, which leaves me with the Turbo...

...sleek, svelt, powerful, useable, good quality, inconspicuouse. amd above all, a 911.

You don't like the 360 because of the 430? That makes no sense, those are two different cars. And the 360 is perhaps the best looking car in the world at this very moment.

Second there is no way to know the quality of the 430 since none have been sold yet so you can at best asume. And 360's have been proven to be quite reliable.

And if you chose that argument:

FYI it can be very easily aplied to the porche or lambo, and to all the cars you listed as owning for that matter.

mmm, definitely the new f430. that car is just so great looking and with almost 500 hp with a 0-60 of under 4 seconds, put that with the sound of it and it is one sexy machine.

Why buy the old version when theres a new version coming out! Financial suicide! think of the residuals...

Matter of oppinion I think. Personally, I find the front, (you know, the stupified grinning 3 year old look) a little odd, nor do I like the chunky owerpreportioned rear wings. Can't help that! Just find it ugly. The F430 is a stunning looking car, but neither of them are as good looking as a DB9.

I've had nothing but bad and very expensive experienses with Ferrari since the 80's when I had a 328 GTS. I even tried a 550 Marinello, and theres no way I'm paying £150'000 for a car with pannel gaps that you could march an army through!

Its not just the penis extension thing either, its the young, overpaid, under sexed male exec with blonde highlites and a paul smith suit, that cant drive for crap, but just want to pose. I've siold Ferrari's and they appeal to a generaly nausiation clientelle these days.

Sorry, that how I look at it after 40 years of driving, and your not going to change it.

Lovin the stereotyping! Not a fan of the Gallardo...its too affordable for lambo, why don't they make a 3 series too...360 is nice but if its replacement is coming than it isnt worth is, finally retired is right about that...that leaves a car I have seen in pictures at an autoshow and went "meh", or a 911 turbo...hahahahaha hand me the keys to the 911, Im getting in a high speed police chase!

I cannot belive you are using that as an argument against Ferrari, when you are driving an SL. Do i really have to bring out all the rapper videos with that car in it?

And I've been a passionate Ferrari fan since I was 10 and I visited Modena. I've been cherring for Ferrari in F1 since they were getting killed by Mclaren Honda, followed by Williams Renault, and Benneton. So if i would buy a 360 would that make me a poser too? How is it the cars fault that people that don't apreciate it buy it. And why should people that trully care about Ferrari have to be labelled by the car?

Their racing pedigree is unmached, especially by some tractor builders aka Lambo.

No other car on the list can handle as well as the 360. I haven't seen any tests on the 430 so I can't comment on it. The 360 is one of the best looking cars I've ever seen, it is affordable, and it is one of the best handling cars street cars in the world.

Give me a 360 in red please.

Re: Gallardo Vs 911 Vs 360 Vs 430

Out of these i'd have to take the F430, despite not liking the rear styling. The 996 TT is a great car but on its way out, as is the 360, so until the new 911 Turbo comes out i'd take the F430. The Gallardo is nice but there's no substitute for RWD

And finally_retired, let's face it, the UK population is probably the snobbiest in the world when it comes to badges. Posers aren't limited to Ferrari's, but also Porsche's, Lambo's, Merc SL's (that's not a jibe at you), the list is endless. I'm a young executive who wears tailor-made suits, and some day i will own a supercar. But i've loved cars for as long as i can rememer. Who'd have thought that?? Please, let's separate the car from those that drive it when evaluating its merits.

Re: Re: Gallardo Vs 911 Vs 360 Vs 430

I Merc driver (and die hard fan I might add) bashing the driving skill of Ferrari owners. Does that seem strange to anyone else?

Drivers are free to like whatever kind of car they like. But come on finally retired, a MR car built with F1 technology, light weight construction weigh only 1450kg, compared to a 612 bhp techno monstrosity weighing almost two ton. Which do you think a true driving enthusiat would choose?

Back to this poll, the 430 of course. I replaces the 360 so you'd assume it's better. Or at the very least faster in a straight line as well as the track. Gallardo, is an Audi. 996TT is an amazing machine, but 997 is coming soon, and the tiptronic sucks.

Re: Gallardo Vs 911 Vs 360 Vs 430

.....so you'd pick the car with the better numbers as opposed to the one you like more?
so if the next ferrari was pig ugly but goes like stink, you'd still choose that one over a car you actually like more?

if you actually prefer the look of the 360 then why go with the 430?
because it's newer and has better numbers?
no offence intended but isn't that a bit shallow?

here's a little side question.
free car.
355 or 360 or 430?

anyway.
of the ones presented, i think i'll have to go with the little german.
um, gallardo that is....
i'm still in awe with how small it actually is.
911 is nice and all but yeah, i live in london and i am a badge snob; a 911 is too common.
doesn't matter that it's a turbo,
as far as the casual observer is concerned, it's just another porsche.
hmm, but then, that means it's less of a 'target'.

i don't think i would ever choose a modern ferrari.
i have too much love for the old ones.
in ten years i'd still want a 288 GTO or 246GT but i'm not sure i'd still 'want' a 360 or 430.

how is that shallow to chose the car with the better perfomance?

Perfomace is one of the most important factors. The 360 is by far one of my favorite cars but if, lets say, a civic could outperform it, I would refuse to ever get one.

Re: Gallardo Vs 911 Vs 360 Vs 430

but how often are you really going to use that performance?
and are you really going to notice the difference between 4.5 and 4.1 when most things on the road can't even begin to compete with you going 'easy'.

and well, the civic thing is a bit of a skewed way of looking things and let's ignore that i'm pretty sure a civic can be made to perform better.
but that's not the point.

we are generally talking about a bunch of cars that are by themselves in terms of quality and work involved, a class above.

my point is with resepcts to when you are looking at cars, especially from the same maker and especially cars from the same line;
hence the question of choice
355, 360 or 430?

if you really like the 360 in terms of how it looks and how it goes, then why go for a car that you don't like the look of?
is it really because of the boast factor?
"hey, i've got the latest, fastest V8 Ferrari"

that's what i mean by shallow.
sure, performance does matter but does that over-ride personal preference?

again, if the next ferrari was pig ugly, would you choose it over a slightly slower one that you like more?

i said performace is one of the most important factor. Not the only one. In the case of the 430 Vs 360 I like the 360 a bit more but not enough to offset the perfomance advantage.

If the 430 would've been butt ugly then yeah i would've stayed with the 360.

Fore xample with the scaliegtti as much as I'm a Ferrari fan, and despite the fact that the italian is a better performer. i would take a Db9 over it(when they will finally bring that manual for it)

Bottom line there are many factors in choosing a car and perfomance is a big one but of course not the only one.
