Is it the Starter?

I have a 97 Acura CL and lately it hasn't been starting properly. We jump started it Friday last week and it's been working fine, until yesterday. We had to jump start it again. This is what happens: When I try to start it, it clicks then nothing. Jump start it and it works fine. Then for some reason the battery drains and the car won't start anymore. Any ideas??

Re: Is it the Starter?

from what you describing...doesn't sound like the start unless it does that w/ a good battery. try replacing the battery first....once you get the new battery in. check the alternator. it would be handy if you have a volt meter. they way i check for a working alternator...is first check voltage of battery. since it's new...should read at least a 12V. then start the car and check the voltage again...this time the voltage should have climbed up in the 13-14. if reading does not show increase of voltage...got a bad alternator. also make sure the pos and neg batt terminals are clean.
