The negative has a black strip on it and the positive doesn't.

Re: speaker wiring help + -

The speakers in my '00 civic are grey and blue!! It took a little while to get them figured out. Some (if not all) after-market speakers have the - and + marked on them and if you get lucky the factory speakers will too (my didn't).

Re: Re: speaker wiring help + -

well the problem is there are no speakers in them, so I just have two wires. One has a black strip, the other has a green/or purple one.

Re: speaker wiring help + -

If one has a black strip it probably is the negative. I heard somewhere that if the speaker flexes outward it is hooked up right and if it flexes down it is hooked up wrong. I've never tried it, but it is supposedly has to do with polarity.

I miss read the tread before and thought you had a 00 civic, whatever man here it is, and next time instead of getting hyphy with me just simply explain that the thread that I have posted is not pertaining to the car you have and politely ask me for the stereo wire color codes for your 1990 CRX. I'm truly sorry if you thought I was getting "hyphy". I really didn't mean it that way. I thank you for your help, and I didn't notice the link or I would have looked them up myself, but thank you very much.

once again, I'm sorry you thought I was being mean, didn't mean to come off that way.
